Is the game worth buying?
I've thought about buying SW:KotOR, since i like both Star Wars and RPGs. I've heard only good things about it, so it would be cool to start with the first, and go for the 2nd, when that time comes.
But i haven't got a clue, what the game is all about, So i was wondering if any of you experienced gamers would take a little time to answer my newbie questions
- Is the game single, multi or online based?
- How are the grafics compared to Baldurs gate or NWN?
- Any other information i need to know?

The game is single player, and I must confess to having never played those games you mentioned. However, it was fun and exciting enough to get a die hard FPS nut like me playing non-stop (and got me interested in other RPG's). The cinematics are among the most beautifully rendered I have ever seen, esp. the flight into Korriban. Sometimes I go there just to watch that and then leave again. Great story, though a bit linear from what I am told by RPG fans, It has some good twists you might not see coming. Still, the turn based combat has a very real time feel and is very exciting, the graphics are excellent, though not perfect, and the game has a freedom of movement and variety that allows players to try different strategies and combos for problems. All in all, I give it a 9.1 out of 10.
They are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and they go forth to the kings of the entire inhabited earth to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty. And they gathered them together to the place that is called in Hebrew Har-Maged'on - Revelations 16:14,16
The Wheel Of Time turns and Ages come and go. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under Shadow. Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time.

The game is as mentioned above - fully single player.
The graphics are much better then both NwN and BG-series, but also in another perspective. It is 3rd person across the shoulder, whereas BG was isometric and NwN was 3rd person but with movable camerar (eventually).
SW:Kotor is a good action RPG wich is quite fun - however it is much less RPGish then Baldurs Gate Series and somewhat less then NwN. So don't pick it up if you expect it to be a pure RPG. It is very liniar and the choices you make in the game are also limited with limited consequences.
However that being said - it is still quite good if you like Star Wars and action games with a RPG feel. The rules are D20-based so they will be very similar to what you know from NwN if you have played that.
It is certainly a game worth trying at least in my view - but as I said - don't expect a RPG in comparison with BG2, then it will disapoint you at first (it did me, but I have still played it some times).

Good deal. If you love it and don't mind 2D graphics, give a thought next to Baldur's Gate II. It's an earlier Bioware title with greater depth, especially in party interaction.
But for now--just play!

Admittedly, there are going to be few nay sayers in a forum dedicated to the game. Still, I'll leave this thread open a bit longer to see if anyone comes along who genuinely dislikes the game, and has good reasons against buying it.

The game is excellent and worse the $10-$20 from any bargain bin or used shelf. The one problem is time. So far I have not been ale to get too far or keep playing consitently because I ma being interrupted by other newly released games. But personally, I don't mind spreading the game out over a few months.

The only thing you need to know is:
if you like both Star Wars and RPGs...you will definitely like this game. plus you can get the better PC version for like....$27. I just got it for my brother in law on the Sears web site for that...so its not even that expensive...nor do you have even get up. lol.. Do it! DO IT!
