As far as i can tell, there is no offical patch.
And the unoffical only atempts to fix the ... a bug that occurs later in the game.
I'd suggest you load an old save and do this quest again.

Bah, have completed about 8 quests since I first encountered this problem, including that devilish Zombie hunting mission. Was going to go to bed early tonight :froth:

On a sidenote, I looked for a solution to my problems in a walkthrough and noticed a considerable warning saying not to enter the theatre downtown before receiving the quest that would instruct me to do so. I've already entered it accidentally via the sewers (Was on the run from the police). Should I be expecting to suffer a death not unlike the one portrayed in the movie 'Ring' for my insolence?

The more quests you fail to do now, the more you have left to discover on a second play-through.

Yes, as punishment the game will crash when you complete the SoL quest
