speed gaming?
Has anyone speed gamed BG2? If so, what time did you have when you made it?
While it may seem strange for this topic to be largely unaddressed, especially with the days/hours counted every time you save, I think there is a reasonable explanation: side quests. The side quests pretty much define the game as it sets the BG series apart from the linear RPGs we have all grown accustomed to (Final Fantasy, anyone? *gag*). So even in subsequent run-throughs, we still find ourselves immersed in as much combat as possible, trying out our new strategies, and taking dialogues in different directions.
If you want to see how quickly you can skip through the game, my advice would be to take a solo FMT with specialized proficiency in quarterstaff/2her/bows, stealth past as much of the game as possible, avoid any unnecessary interaction (though distraction due to big experience/items can be justified in the simple instances), and you will likely be amazed with just how quickly you can finish. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Right you are, Ken.
