Masquerade Violations...

Post by ColonCowboy »

Okay, so I'm halfway through Hollywood and I've been a total goodie-goodie-two-shoes, no violations and redemptions a plenty (those redemptions should be put in a bank if you're over and above 5, IMO). What would violating once do to me? I'm Ventrue if that makes a difference.

It wouldn't do a thing. I had three violations shortly after one another, but then there's still two left to go. I'm guessing when you reach 5 it's game over. Dunno though, since i earned plenty of redemption points after that, i never got in any serious trouble.

The violation is from when a girl walks up to you, recognizing you from where you were alive. This happens the first time you leave Issac's office and past the restaurant.

When she makes a phone call is when the violation happens. If you somehow prevent her from making that call, no points are taken, though killing her is not the best idea.

There are basicly five options to deal with her.

Use the sewers and avoid the encounter.
Use a discipline that makes her forget.
Drink some of her blood, so she gets temorary amenisa.
Talk her out of it.
Ignore the encounter and take the violation. You will have plenty of oppurtunites to make up for it later.

At first the prince just gets a little Narcy at you, telling you your bad and can't have any biscut now.
After a while, if you get a few violations.. Sometimes.. SOMETIMES.. Vampire hunters start appaering from around corners and in alleys to chase you down and kill you.
If you get 5 violations, it's assumed the prince cleans up the mess, you are blood hunted, found, killed promptly and everyone goes on about their life as normal... While you are swept from the street in the morning by the street sweeping machines.
I was Diablorised once. I got better.

Good thing I'm past that part. I didn't ask for spoilers I asked what would happen after one violation. I didn't say I had a violation only that I wanted to know what would happen if I violated once. What you offered was not an answer to my question. Keep it to yourself next time.

I didn't read it but that's not the point "dude". That person's response had absolutely nothing to do with my question, that's the point.

No reason to go rabid there.

Maybe I posted it for more than just your sole benefit, CC.

This topic had been brought up more than once on these forums, I just consolidated them into one post.

I didn't go rabid, I was just stating that your answer was off topic. I did a search of the whole forum for an answer to my question before I posted and did not see a sufficient answer, therefore I made a post about it.

You chose to answer a question that I did not ask and one that, you're right, I noticed is posted all over the board. My advice to you is to read the question more thoroughly before running to the front of the class with the correct answer to the wrong question. That's all.

If there's going to be any further argument between you, please take it to PMs (private messages). Click on somebody's name to send 'em one. Thanks.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Haha Diedre what made you so sure that was the situation he was asking about? That's not the only place to get a masqerade violation you know.

CC, I apologize, I saw Hollywood and Masquerade violations and my crazy head put it together to the instance you meet that girl Samantha on the street.

There is a reason I identify with Malkavians so well...

You killed her? You must have lost humanity when you snapped her neck... Right?

If not, it sounds an awful lot like the game is saying that it's okay to kill innocents for the sake of the masquerade. Interesting...

My Tremere character suicided her, and I most definitely lost humanity, but no criminal violation.
