Best weapons for Jaheira?
In my current game I'm using Jaheira as the third (light) tank. What do people think are the best weapons for her, especially early on?
I like the fact that with a scimitar or a club she can carry a shield, since she tends to be low on hit points for a tank, but of course you can also buy the Staff of Rynn fairly early and there don't seem to be many good scimitars in the game for later.
What do you think it's best to spend proficiences on for her? There's also spear...

As I recall, she can acquire Blackblood, a Club +3 which also does +3 acid damage, relatively early in the game. Gnasher, a Club +2 which does an additional 2 points of damage each round (for four rounds), is another good, early weapon.
I also like to give Jaheira several staves. Not to wield in battle, but to use for summoning purposes, since the staves recharge. There's the Staff of Thunder and Lightning +2, the Staff of Air +2, the Staff of Earth +2, and the Staff of Fire +2. As I recall, the fire one even holds nearly two dozen summoning charges.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Yes, both Blackblood +3 and gnasher +2 are good weapons, I was did not like that BioWare decided to give her stars in "weapon and shield" and "Clubs", pretty much force us to use those weapons.
Also use a sling, the "Sling of Everard" (buy it from Joluv, copper coronet, bonus merchant) is +5 and does not require ammo.

I had her with two stars in club, scimitar, and shields. At the end of the game she was using Gnasher +2 because of its additional damage which was also handy for interrupting spell casters. There aren't any good scimitars in the game really, I did find a +3 one I think for her to use whenever she fought mobs that were immune to blunt damage or +2 weapons.

Methinks Zartuul hath been smoking too much Longbottom Leaf. Belm is only +2, granted, but it gives an extra attack, which is like dual-wielding without losing the shield.Originally posted by Zartuul:

I agree that Impaler and Gnasher are good options, but I'm convinced that anybody playing J should do Trademeet/Druid Grove ASAP. It's easy enough to do early, and by the time you're done, you can equip J with Belm, Blackblood (for blunt damage and/or +3 thac0), and Sentinel Shield. This combo makes her superstrong. I used her as my main fighter once with this setup and had zero problems.
since i don't like most of the lv 2 druid spls, jaheria & flame blade. (for the early chapters at least)
as for weapons, belm is great, but i think it's of much more use off hand w/ celestial fury or FoA, which keeps it out of her hands.
if using jaheria to tank she gets:
blackblood or gnasher (i think are the best) w/ the fortres shield.
i'm also rather fond of the druid staff you can buy from joluv, gives a/c bonus + 5th & 6th lv spells, - but this works better if you use her in a support role, i'll also giver her a magic missle wand for ranged attacks (against most stuff at least)

In the druid grove you get the shield of harmony, IIRC. It's a great shield with it's attached immunities.Originally posted by elting44:
