Hi, Did you get yourself a blood pet at your apartment?
I played female Malkavian and during Santa Monica and Downtown missions I got myself a blood pet at my apartment.
Tried to read the hints, remembering when I actually triggered that sequence, but there is no statement of it, or I've most likely missed that part.
Anyone of you got the blood pet?
Is it cruicial, so it's part of the main adventure?
I don't think so, since she just strolls around in the apartment changing three sets of clothing...
plain (normal), underwear (look stupid) and underground drug addict (awful).
The only benefit is you can refill your veins and If I remember correctly she also pimps for you, at least one time...a small innocent kill...kinda freebee, present from your pet.
Well, Is it part of the main event, so you always get this blood pet or did I just stumble up on something not yet listed in the walk through?
My blood pet...

Remember when you were in the Santa Monica Hospital and you fed that dying girl some of your blood? Well that would be her. She's your ghoul, addicted to your blood and willing to do anything for you. I once got her to give me her scholarship ($500), and you can get the best armor in the game from her. She is not a part of the main quest; actually she doesn't even show up in the quest log.
armor?
Is there armor in the game?
I made the quest with starting clothings...
didn't know there was armor I could use...
Where should I've bought that?
The only shops I've found was the pawn shop in the start....
The only problems I had was the stone golem and the tons of blood packs I had to carry throughout the game... During the sewer-maps I was in real trouble, but solved it with my frenzy/hypno-attacks..
Had some skilllevel 5 in;
stealth
strength
stamina
melee
level 3 in;
The Malkavian hypnotic thing, that could do instant kill...
(you have to reach lvl 3)
Dexterity
and my katana to kill the monsters and so...
Before I got my katana I sneaked up behind and emtied their veins or made some plain necktwisting..
worked fine...
although the werewolf took me some 4h to get through....

In Downtown, you can buy some from Fat Larry. Black guy with an afro, behind a truck, in a parking lot near Venture Tower. He sells Heavy Clothing, which gives Lethal and Bashing soaks of +1.
In Hollywood, you can buy some from Slater. He's the clerk at the Red Spot convinience store right next to your start point in the area. Talk to him for a while, and eventually, he'll strongly suggest you ask about "the special". Do so, and from there it's pretty straightforward. He sells Light Leather, which gives Lethal and Bashing soaks of +2, but lowers your Dexterity by 1.
Since you mentioned a "Stone Golem" (assumedly the Gargoyle), and the Nosferatu Warrens, I'm assuming you're already at Hollywood. Everything else is past Hollywood, so I'll put it in spoiler text just to make sure.
In Chinatown, you can buy some from Tseng, at Tseng's Herbal Remedies. Press him about his military history, and ask him if he knows about guns- or alternatively, mention that you have a "Tong problem". He sells Heavy Leather, which gives Lethal and Bashing soaks of +3, but lowers your Dexterity by 1.
The strongest armor in the game is Body Armor, which can be obtained from Heather. You'll have to be nice to her throughout the game, and eventually she'll give it to you very late during its course- right before the Hotel Hallowbrook mission. I'm not sure of its stats, however.
Hope I helped, and sorry if I got any details about armor stats or ways to get them wrong.

I already played the game to the end, as I mentioned before, but unaware about the armor thing...
I kinda rushed through the game as a classic FPS-player.
Now the 2nd time, I'll make it as RPG-player.
yes, you're right. There was armor...gee, what difference!!!
Major difference !
oh btw, the stone golem is the talking monkey in the sushi-house...
He got me under his foot and that smell was lethal.
Now I'll meet him under different conditions, so he'll smell my sharp nails instead.
Character quote:
"The first armor upgrade kinda made my *bush* some 30% better.
Love when that happens.
Every men dies when they try to get some.
They're all bunch of crackpots thinking women are the weaker sex.
Men, I hate them for selling me to the Vampire snack bar.
Now I'm out there for my personal vendetta."
