Weird Bug - Mouse not responding

Post by rcaubin »

I've got the latest patch and this game and everything on my computer is brand new.

While playing the game, I'll be moving forward and mouse-looking around and all of a sudden I'll loose control of my character for 2-3 seconds.

He'll keep walking in the direction he was moving before I lose control. The keyboard in unresponsive during this time and so is the mouse.

After this episode is done, I regain keyboard and mouse control.

This problem is persistent and makes my gameplay almost impossible.

Anyone else encounter this problem?

hmmm...

I also have/had this problem, but mine seems not to be a severe as yours(if will turn me around, sort of spazzing out, lasting only a few seconds in the really framerate busy areas[hubs]). Have you tried installing the newest patch yet? drivers? I tried a few things, and I havn't had this problem in a while. Since this has only happened in this game, I'm assuming it's either an engine/mouse compatibility error with them not working together as well, or some sort of overload in framerates/etc in the game itself, causing the mouse to spazz out, etc(since it is always in really high framerate areas for me). I hope you get it sorted out.

Network settings

Do you have this issue in other games? I have seen this happen in systems where the networking is set up with too many protocols, or sometimes (especially with NForce drivers) if file and print sharing is set up on your main protocol. If you are comfortable in setting up your HW and network, try disabling your network card in device manager. This can happen even though you do not have a network, just connected to the 'net.
