im not a specialist on ad&d rules but i wondered about this a few times:
the evil character leave if ur reputation is 18 or highter. but why would they leave?
why would they care if their reputation is good? i mean its not like evil ppl try to proclaim to the whole world that they are evil...maybe the chaotic evil ones.
but im pretty sure a lawfull evil character would WANT his reputation as high as possible and possibly and neutral evil character too,
do you guys have any comments on that?
p.s. i know they had to make it like this for the game´s sake but still i get pissed whenever i see edwin or kagain complaining about my reputation. wouldnt a good reputation enable them to do their evil deeds in a lawfull way more then if they had a low reputation?
just a thought i had about evil alligments

Because they get angry that the party is 1) squandering wealth, 2) performing tasks for next to nothing, 3) not being respected, 4) taking risks to assist fools. When this happens often enough, they get up and leave.
Incidentally, you might want to check out the Virtue Mod. It divides rep into wrold reputation and virtue, a barometer of morality. Party members respond to virtue, not reputation, so you can kill people quietly without being otherwise noticed and take no hit to your rep, yet see your virtue suffer. You can find it here.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
