hah, well, even though I have answered this same question from other people at least 10 times,i will answer it again...one last time. First of all, there is a major bug in the game which prevents most people from opening these doors(either by trying to press E or just push on the bar). All you have to do is save in front of the door and reload. Presto. It should work...hope this helps...*sigh*

Pressing E will not work, you have to actually run into it, I believe. I never had any trouble running into it, though finding the right angle to do so is annoying.

indeed...even after reloading(if you hav that bug), it can still be difficult to find the right angle on it, as it only moves a bit at a time(what was the point in having that anyways? Why do game developers always have to make things difficult?)

I used noclip...

Just open the console and type noclip

It's kinda tricky using it coz u move way too fast, but to turn it off again just type noclip again

Barred doors in Golden Temple (endgame)
First of all, there is a major bug in the game which prevents most people from opening these doors(either by trying to press E or just push on the bar). All you have to do is save in front of the door and reload. Presto. It should work...hope this helps...*sigh*
I'm not sure it's a bug... the confusing thing is that you don't use E (the Use key) on the bar. It's counter-intuitive, but you stand right in front of the door and "strafe" right (D key) against the bar's crosspiece. Standing perpendicular to the door, facing the crosspiece, would seem to make more sense, but that doesn't work. Anyway, push it sideways. The bar should move with you, and you see it lock into place; then the doors open normally.

I wouldn't advise using noclip here, because I believe it's a portal door with a load screen. There are a number of past threads on the forums describing people's attempts to solve this with various methods of reloading; use the search function to see them if the sideways pushing doesn't work for you.

its on the cheat console. you have to activate it first and type in the code. i can't remember the whole process of getting the cheat console activated in the first place (not off the top of my head) but i'm sure i've read about it loads of times on this forum so a search should get the details on how to set it up.

Cheat Console

To get the console, find your VTMB short-cut (it has that arrow in the bottom-left corner). Right-click and select "Properties". Under "Target", modify it so that it reads:

"C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\vampire.exe" -console

The "-console" bit at the end is what you have to add. Once that's done, start the game and at any point you can press shift-tilde (~) to open the console and do all manner of tremendously unfashionable and extremely fun things, such as give your Tremere character the power of Dementation.

Yet another of the Ming-doors threads has snuck by us. Please, guys, when you enter a forum with so many questions answered like this one, don't make the regulars have to repost the same info ten times. :) (Not to mention, the site owner says the forums slow down if they bloat with duplicated threads all the time.) Just use our advanced search on Ming, or Leopold, or whatever you wish, and look it up. We've got plenty of material in our database.

Thread closed.
