Help! I need info on Kegan

I am completely stuck at trying to get Kegan to give me the key to Dram's room on the barracks level. I read that you have to give him the white rum, but I *never* get that option when I talk to him. I have installed the 1.47 patch, and everything else I can try. Does anyone know the solution to this? I have had my character and the Deathknight hold the rum and talk to him, but nothing helps.

Has anyone else had this problem??

I am not sure why this would be happen, but just a suggestion: Try pickpocketing him?
