Uncertain about an item on Korriban (Spoiler)

Post by Revan_REBORN »

i was wondering if anyone out there could help with this. I've beaten the game several times as light, dark, guardian, consular, etc. but on Korriban, in the locked room that use to be Uthar's old room in KotOR 1, there is a sith holocron. and after using the Thorium Charges you find in the library to open the room, you see the sith holocron but when you select it, it says that it has just been recently damaged by the charges you used. my question is has anyone been able to open the door and not damage the holocron? even the walkthrough on this site says they aren't sure about it but that some people have emailed them saying that you can see Bastilla talking about the past in the holocron if you don't damage it. or is it just one of those things that Obsidian included in the game but didn't actually finish? like how we hear about upgrading our swoop bikes in KotOR 1 but we never actually can. This is the only thing I haven't done in the game yet and I really don't want to play it over again if there is no way to not damage the holocron.

holo

You r right, it is Bastilla (well everyone says its Bastilla, I personnally didnt recognize her as Bastilla so much as she looked like some dressed up Sith officer chick) talking about Revan and the starforge but without detail, basiclly she was told to wait on koriban for Revan but he never showed so she left. When I got to the holo it was one of two reasons I can see.. 1 my character had high demolition in that run through or it could be I used the charges I found on Dxun instead of those on Korriban. I also read that BaoDur can take care of this if he is with you.

If you'll note, theres another thread discussing this. Apparently it appears to depend on your answers to Atton at the beginning of the game. If you say Revan was DS (and possibly male), you will be able to read the holocron. Otherwise, no dice.

well i didn't have bao-dur with me but i did have atton and his demolition skill was high, around 21 or so. but it still ended up damaged. will have to try it out with bao-dur. i did say revan was darkside and a male, so that part should be ok if it's true. thanx for the info guys.

does anyone know if there is a cheat to get those charges instead of going all the way to Korriban?

If you said Revan was DS, you should get a cameo from Bastilla from the Holocron otherwise it will be busted.

The sole purpose of that Holocron is to give you a reason why the Sith didn't use the Star Forge to take over the galaxy with a DS Revan; basically, once he left for the unknown regions there was no one left who could make it work. :p
LucasArts in interview with GameSpy, September 2004
"We were hoping we could bring the Xbox platform into December but didn't want to make the formal announcement until we knew an earlier ship date would not compromise the quality of The Sith Lords," says Producer Mike Gallo.
