dual-class question

Post by Hazim ibn Gorion »

I want to start my PC as an undead slayer and dual to cleric. Will starting off as a kit character keep me from being able to do the Priest of Lathander quest?

As for the first part...oops, you're right. Bummer. What about Berserker? Can regular rangers dual to cleric?

As for the second part, I guess that's the essence of my question. The specialty clerics aren't exactly kits, are they. They're just clerics who have completed a specific holy quest and then get special powers, so it seems to me that maybe they could do the specialty priest quest even if they dualed from a kit.

Obviously, what makes sense to me might not be what's in the rule book. But I can't find anything on this is the book. Has anyone tried to dual to cleric from a kit class? If so, were you able to do the specialty priest quest?

Thanks in advance.

bioware changed that so you didnt had to complete a cleric quest ingame to become one of the 3 special kits..you have to choose them from the start

Oh...didn't know that either. I'm just a font of stupidity today. But thanks for the info. That'll make a big difference.

2 more on-topic questions for anyone who knows: 1) Anything stopping me from dualing from straight ranger to straight cleric? 2) What, in your opinion, is the best racial enemy for a ranger to have in BG2?

When choosing a racial enemy u should remember that that enemy must also be easy to hit. Chosing Liches wont do u any good becuase most of the time your mages will have to take care of their defences and than its a easy prey. Vampiers on the other hand are nasty creatures that can alleways be hit and when battling these undead creatures racial discrimination will work to your advantage.
