Now I was gonna give BG another go around since it's been a while, and now it won't install. Any tips? Thanks.

The autorun comes up, I click install, the cursor goes to pointer with hourglass, then the autorun window is gone and nothing. I've tried running the installer directly, but that doesn't work either. I've never had this problem before, and I've installed the game on this machine several times with these discs (Original Saga).

Are you on XP? Did you get an error message at all?

Have you tried installing other programs since you've had this problem

Yes I'm on XP, but not SP 2. I never got an error message, and no I haven't tried to install anything since.

Check for these files in WINNT/system32:

- config.nt
- autoexec.nt
- command.co or .com

If any are missing go to the REPAIR folder in WINNT, copy the respective one, and paste in system32.

I have autoexec and config, but the only command I have is the MS-DOS prompt thing. Is that what you're askin about? And if not there's no command anything in the repair folder

And BGII installs just fine. For those of you asking if anything else would install.

Have you tried the other options on the autorun screen to see if they work?
Is the disk scratched badly?
Does the music play with the autorun?

I have the 5CD, but expect them to start the same at least.

I did experience one interesting phenomenon. While I was installing BGII afterwards to see if something else would install a dialogue window popped up and said that the BG:TotSC disc was not in the drive(wrong volume or something like that). I think I'm gonna try installing again after work and just leave the CD in for a while and see what happens.

If you have enough HD space, copy ALL Cd's to your HDD then run the install from your HDD.

When my installed failed a few times in a row, I did it this way. Worked like a charm.

I'll give that a try tonight, sounds like the easiest route.
