Get Book From Derek

I arrived at the Den and one of the first things I did was take up the quest of retrieving 200 bucks from Fred. This was the only quest listed under "The Den" in my PIP. I completed the quest and then it was crossed out, but a new quest was on my list that wasn't there before and I never noticed that I agreed to do it. It says "Get Book from Derek", but I don't know the details of the quest. Can someone explain the details of this quest?

Yeah the book i found seems to apear randomley, once it was in the toilet block behind the HOLE, once it was in the grave yard behind a tree and once it was behind mums restruant! so jus keep your eyes and and you sohuld find it. Also if you kill megstar (leader of slavers guild) becky gives you $1000 not to mention the amount of EXP you get from freeing the slaves. Also the book has always apeared on the east side of the den for me. (this is with an unpatched game)

The quest is given by Becky, the same woman who asked you to get the money from Fred. Basically, she lent a book to Derek, who has since lost it. It is usually found on the eastern map, with the Slavers compound. I generally find it south of the graveyard. Just get the book, and return it to her. For some amusing dialogue, read the book.
