Active powers display?

So I just realized I haven't been able to figure out which force powers are active the same way I did in KotOR I, by looking at the character screen. Does anyone know how you know what powers are active on your character in KotOR II? It's pretty annoying if all you can see is the stupid green up arrow or red down arrow and have no idea which is what. It makes it hard to know what to reuse since you don't know which power has run out.
