No Handmaiden if Female?

IF you don't get the handmaiden if you're a chick do you get an alternate character later on?

You only get Handmaiden with male characters.

u get the disciple dude.. u find him on Dantooine in the enclave.. i havent played him, but im sure he is good.

Yeah, the disciple kicks about as much butt as the Handmaiden, however, he's not nearly as nice to look at.
