Daedric Right Pauldron

Post by Oblivion135 »

Some time ago I read in a FAQ that there is a daedric right pauldron in the tower of castle karstaag on solstheim. My character (an uber collector and game beater altmer) went straight after it. Well, I'd expect a tower a bit larger for a frost giant, but oh well. I killed the riekling and than searched the tower to no result. Now I just opened my construction set to check if it was actually there (maybe it was in a hard spot or I didn't look well). Well, it was there, but behind some ice (as in a wall) and seemingly impossible to reach. My question is: has anyone ever found a daedric right pauldron in the tower of castle karstaag on solstheim (bloodmoon required) or read about it and found it?

I found it once. It was located inside the top tower entrance, in a very tiny, hardly visible alcove in the back right corner of the room. I could, however, reach it (once I could actually see it ;) )
Get up, stand up. Come on, throw your hands up.

Actually, I can find a lot of tiny alcoves and none of them even comes close. I think this is, if it is reachable at all, only for races like the khajiit and bosmer because they are small and can look in these alcoves.

Just in case you're talking about different places, the entrance is on top of the castle, & you need to levitate or jump REALLY high to get there...

However, I'm really curious to know if there are any ways of getting into the main entrance of the castle. I haven't been there in a good while, but i seem to remember a message saying that the door won't budge?? Has anybody been inside that castle???
"Yes. Later on, I'd love to."

Just to remove any misunderstanding: I know how to get into the tower, my question is: how to get the daedric right pauldron inside? I saw it with my CS, it is there. It's located behind one of the ice sheets in the wall approximately across from the entrance. It's really weird of Bethesda to put a pauldron there as it's impossible to reach from my point of view. You wouldn't even look for it unless you read a walkthrough of FAQ. Putting it in a golden saint filled ruin OK, but here I can't understand it.

PS: The entrance to the castle is in an underwater cave north of the castle. It is really easy to find and it's only about 3 metres away from the coast.

*Warning* The below is a slight spoiler to one of the quests to the Tribunal expansion.

Leave Radac, and continue through to the Passage of the Walker (through
the first collapsed rocks). When you reach another Heavy Dwemer Door,
turn around, and you'll find another group of collapsed rocks. Use
your second Dwemer Satchel Pack, and create an opening for you to go
through.

Alright, we're in Norenen-dur. Move forward a bit, then east towards a
door that goes to the Teeth that Ghash. There two other doors here, but
they lead to nothing (as far as I know). Continue moving along until
you reach the Citadel of Myn Dhrur. Along this path (and in the Citadel
itself), you'll fight the badasses of Morrowind. Storm Atronachs,
Dremoras, Golden Saints, and Winged Twilights are your foes here,
not to mention the Dremora lord, Khash-Ti Dhrur.

When you kill Dhrur, search his body to get the Pyroil Tar. If you're
the adventurous type, levitate up to the top of the Citadel, and enter
Wailingdelve, which contains a lot of Daedric equipment along the
waterfall. Return back to Radac whenever you're ready.
I quoted this from the Walkthrough here: http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/ ... unal_b.txt

At the end of the quote he mentions about there being Daedric equipment in Wailingdelve, but there are barely any, except for a Daedric Pauldron I found. I am not sure whether it is leveled-loot, but most probably not. You can try to find this but first you must continue in the Tribunal Quest far enough until you are able to enter the Dwemer Ruins through Plaza Brindisi Dorom.
