Can't torch pyre to burn dead bodies

Post by Marshall »

Hi. I have a lighted torch in my hand standing by this pyre and I can't seem to activate my character into setting fire to the pyre. Could someone please help? Thanks in advance.

Try from different angles, sometimes your char can get stuck and just not do anything. but if you move around a bit and try again, it might help.
but either way, its 20xp so even if its a bug, i wouldnt worry too much about it.

Not all pyres are activatable and thus - burnable.
Try holding your mousecursor over the pyre and seeing if it highlights the pyre. If not - you can't torch it.

Re Can't Burn Pyre

Thanks for the two replies. I have tried highlighting the pyre with the curser. It does highlight it but when I left click on it a window comes up showing the contents of the pyre which is empty. Am I not doing something right. Please help. Thanks.

One pyre (in the central area, I think) is just a container, and you can't do anything with it. The rest you should be able to light.

I now throw a monkey Wrench into this.
Spoiler
I found it better to BASH the Pyres (that you use the torches on) instead of torching them, with Bullets/Arrows of Fire (Fire Bullet, Fire Arrow).

The Pyres are damage resistant to a pretty high degree, but theye are NOT resistant to fire. 25 exp per hit, and it take 100 points fire damage to totally destroy one pyre, which nets you between 600 & 2500 exp per pyre destroyed.

You'll likely average about 800 exp/pyre, tho.
I tried reporting this for the walkthru, but my emails kept getting bounced.

Note: I used the spoiler tags. Highlight if you want to read it.
