anyone use ToB Versus Books guide? XP problems.

Post by jet75 »

For anyone that uses the Versus Books Guide for ToB. I did some miniquests in Saradush and the XP I got is very different from what the guide says I should get. Anyone notice these? Is this something different in my settings or are they typos in the guide? btw, i tried normal and core rules difficulties and it didn't make a difference.

Ok, my answer might not be worth much for two reasons - 1. I haven't got ToB yet, and 2. I don't have the guide either. But it could be possible that the difference is in the version of the game, since the guide is already out, this means that the person who made it played a 'pre-release' version of the game. While you are playing the 'released' version, if you know what I mean.

Sabre: I guess that's very possible. Thanks for the input. So there isn't anything in the game settings like maybe game difficulty that should affect the amount of XP received?

In the manual it said that there is an experience penalty if you're playing in Easy setting, all other difficulty settings get the same amount of xp.

For what I have read about the versus book, its full of mistakes (I do happen to own SoA versus book and its also full of errors).
Most must be of the book being of the ealier version and not the final release.
Also I dont think that there is a XP diference from playing at any setting, there is one on BG I but not on BG II.
- Waterdeep city constrution.

- Shadowdale low level adventure module.

- Rashmare /Thay high level adventure module.

Don't get me started on that infernal book! I have the SoA one and the errors sicken me. It seems to have been edited by a blind monkey used as a lobotomy test. I could go on for pages about the horrendous number of mistakes that even my little sister could spot, but that would be acknowledging the book's existence, which is something that I won't do. Rant over.

Did any of you get the part where they made that joke about the Holy Handgrenade? I think they reprinted that three times, one after another...

Maybe I just dont use it enough, but I only noticed one error so far.
On the shade lord quest, they have the noon, morning and night tide rituals mixed up.
