Yeah as you can see...I'm new to this whole Fallout world. I bought both Fallout1&2....but the thing is they didn't come with an intruction manual.
Some questions...
1. What are perception points? How do you gain perception points?
2. If one of your party member dies...is he/she dead forever?
3. What does being addictive do? My character is addicted to mentats...is that good or bad? Can you get unaddicted?
4. Is there any way to give your party members a weapon without having to barter?
5. In the Intro film thing...it talks about leaving the Vault for the first time and safety instructions. It says to wear goggles because your eyes will be too sensitive to the sunlight. How come in Fallout 1...your character isn't wearing any goggles when he/she leaves the Vault?

1: Perception is your ability to notice things and hit things at further range. Besides increasing the distance you can shoot at things in events such as random encounters it changes the distance between you and your enemies possibly giving you a better chance to get shots in or run away.
2: Dead once dead forever, load time if you feel like it. There is one tactic though, if someone in your team is taking punishment you can attack the person attacking them and they'll turn around and concentrate on you.
3: Addictions happen when your character is exposed to (or using) certain chemicals. Addition will often cause a reduction in stats that is temporary but may take a long time to counter.
4: If he's in your party the easiest way to tranfer items is to use your steal skill on them and move the items around, they will not go hostile and cannot spot you doing it. You will still be required to give them the order to equip items if necessary though (especially armour).
5. Good question, play the game and enjoy it. Picking the game to pieces will do you no good when you get to the funnier side of Fallout 2.

well in fallout 1 u started out in a cave. Your first time outside the vault and being in a cave they didn't know if there was a sun. nor if their eyes would burn out. and since your test person nr.1 and survived it with no pain ok
and in fallout 2 you start in daylight so u don't have to wear goggles
you aren't a starting in a vault
and other vaults were problaly not caved in like vault 13(not sure if this is the starting vault in fallout1)

Yes, Vault 13 is the vault you are starting from in F1. And as far as I know the other vaults are also caved more or less (this is based to the fact that Vault 15 is caved in both F1 and F2, adn the vault in Vault City in F2 is also somewhat caved). So I would say all those Vaults are caved
