Asylum

I have not played BGII in a while, and am now stuck on the Asylum. I know that I need the vampire's hand, but I don't know where to find it/how to get it. I have killed the vampire and his coffin "reeks of carrion". The prob is that I can't remember where his body/hand is. Any help would be apprieciated. Thanks.

You sould gain the hand after you stake the coffin if not mistaken.
It sould be automatic.(I think, that have been some time...)

Damn thats not good...I have searched all over for it. I don't think i dropped it anywhere. Bug maybe? I hope not.

Did you have simulacrum cast when you staked the vampire? I remember one instance in the Shade Lord ruins where the shadow dragon wardstone and the Dawn's Light symbol were apparently given to my simulacrum instead of my PC. Since I couldn't get them back, I used shadowkeeper to give them to me. That may be your only option.

I can't remember if I had sim on. It was over 3 months ago that I killed the vampire. I know that I had animals summoned at the time, maybe Fire Elemental too. Would that also cause a problem?

What is shadowkeeper? I assume it is somekind of game data modifier, right? Where can I get it?

No, you have to stake the vampire to get his hand (like you did with the vampires back at bodhi lair) and kill him for good.
After that you sould get the hand automatic.

You can loot a stake from one of the Kobolds near that pink crystal.

Okay thanks all. I will make sure I staked him. But I am pretty sure that I did stake him, and I don't have his hand. If that is true are there any alternatives besides shadowkeeper?

I am not sure it is automatic - I seem to recall having to click on the coffin again (after using the stake) to get the hand but I may be wrong....

Once you have used the stake Dace's spirit will appear
