Karma question - military base

Post by Eldomm »

Do you know why blowing up the military base with the nuke results in a 100 points karma loss?!?!

I didn't know you could blow it up with nuke. IIRC I always used self-destruction (or something like that, it has been a year since I played it last time).

Well, the only thing I can think of is that you used nuke. Maybe, after the nuclear war, using nuke is considered as a VERY BAD thing. That's what I can think of. Maybe I should install F1 again and see what I can find out

Actually I am not sure about nuke... I completed the game a few years ago, this is a question coming from a friend that just finished playing. I am checking with him and will come back with more precise information.
Thanks for now,

Ok, I checked and I was wrong about the nuke. It was the self-destruction procedure. Anyway, the karma loss was there. Any idea why?!?!

You get several options from the base computer about how to destroy the base. You have the option to have a longer time period before the self destruct sequence blows the hell out of everything. I think your friend chose the option that has a silent destruct sequence. This would mean that any mutants left in the base would automatically die, b/c they wouldn't know what was going on and that they were about to die. Try loading a previous save and use the longest loudest destruct sequence you can. I think that should fix things, but I'm not 100% sure.
