Is this party playable?

Post by Fardaza »

Hey All,

I just reinstalled IWD2 and loaded up my old save games.

I read some posts here and other places and am concerned about the long-term viability of my old party. I don't think I'm interested in HOF gaming, I just want to finish once or maybe twice with another party. So, is this party do-able? Can it finish the game? Or am I wasting my time and should start over.

Aasimar Paladin of Helm - Level 7
Gold Dwarf Fighter - Level 8
Wild Elf Battleguard of Tempus - Level 8
Tiefling Rogue - Level 7
Aasimar Sorceror - Level 7

The three level 7s are ready to level up again. I'm just starting Chapter 2 and am ready to give Oswald the components he needs to fix his crashed flying machine.

Can I continue and enjoy the rest of the game? or Should I start over with a new party and follow some of the advice here about multiclassing? or Should I multiclass some of my current party members and continue?

Thanks everyone!

Your Paladin could use 4 fighter levels..

You could drop your roque.. unless you are going to create roque11/Wizard X..

As for cleric i would have taken lore keeper or pain bearer.

That party is quite good... even that it looks quite flawed.

Continue playing.. but dont give your party any levels.. and when you meet hook horrors and lots of those level up your party.. this thing is condsidered as cheesy way to play.. but it should make game little bit easier.. But if you can handle those evil creatures in ''SPOILER place'' dont level up.

I would say that party of four is best..

How can you say no to this face? :D

But seriusly.. Party without Bard is not party...

I can understand that SYM forum.. mentally 6 year old people is just running around with scissors on their hand.

That's right. You'll never need a pure rouge in IWD 2. Dual him to another useful class (spellcaster I say is the best, but that may vary according to the race and favoured class), that's much more rewarding than continue giving him more thief lvls.
Up the IRONS!

...as long as you don't go for HOF you can beat the game with this party!

but it's definetly not a very powerfull party - but IWD2 on normal is definetly not hard to beat also ;)

without posting the stats is hard to give an advice for multiclassing...

but I posted some suggestions concerning party-building here:

http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/showt ... hp?t=55329

...or have a look at the sticky MC-thread

...but feel free to post the stats !

@Fardaza,
Yes, that party can finish IWD2 as is (meaning single classed characters). Since you are not planning on playing HOF w/ them, you'll be fine. A lot of the threads on multiclassing are for those are who planning on playing Normal then HOF mode, in which case you'll max your character's level at 30 at some point during HOF mode.
