Flying Behemoth special effect (spoiler)

Post by Murmel »

I'm playing the game for the second time now and I want to avoid the problem I had last time. Those of you who haven't played through the game yet, please ignore this post unless you want to spoil your experience.

You see, in the end when the Sheriff morphs into that flying Bhemoth thingie he starts doing the most peculiar thing. I think it is that he screams so loud that your head goes all goo. At least that's the iimpression I get. Everything turns blurry and it's like time slows down.

My problem is that, although I'm sure the effect is SUPPOSED TO slow you down, my computer starts lagging so much that it nearly hooks up. The music hacks too. Last time it took me forever to kill that goon. Even with minimal graphic settings.

Is there a way I can turn this special effect off? Can I type this into the console? Stuff like steam, water and other specialties lag way too much. At the Nosferatu place it's really hard to jump those bridges and all the sewers are just as painful.

I have the same problem. You can't turn it off. It will eventually dissipate. The best thing you can do is either
A) hide and take a shot once in a while crawling back to the place you are hiding if you get hammered by the weapon.
B) Save after each pass the big thing made at you and didn't use the weapon.
