I almost finished the game with light side, and I know I'm going to play it again with dark side. But I'm worried that if I'm too nice to the characters in order to gain influence, I wouldn't be as dark as I'd like to be (esp. with the Disciple). So just wondering... can you be at the bottom of the alignment and still gain powerful influence?
Thanks
Also... having trouble gaining influence with Bao-Dur... seriously need a Jedi Guardian.
Influence v. Alignment (sorta spoiler)

Try saving before you speak to your npc's, then if you dont get the repsonse you want you can reload and try a different tactic.

I tend to rate influence over alignment, since influence is much more rarely gained than alignment shifts. I am currently light side, so I believe DS is going to be a little more difficult, but I went to full LS when just having finished Telos, and still took quite some DS points. spoiler: like the black market merchant's items

The grand majority of influence opportunities with Bao-Dur comes when he's in your party. In fact, I don't recall any influence points from conversation. It took me until my third pass through the game before I could train him to be a Jedi but on my current pass, I found it to be rather easy. I just had to influence him three times and then I was able to train him on my first planet.

NEGATIVE influence works too...
i used negative influence on goto to find out who it really was...annoy an npc enough with negative influence, and they'll turn jedi, dark side, or hk will turn lightside (but this is hard)
all the lightside npcs are fairly easy to corrupt, i think...its the darkside npcs that are hard...

I've played through the game twice light side and only got influence with Disciple and Mira to get them to become Jedi, starting playing through as darkside and already have more influence and a darker alignment than I did as lightside with Atton and Kreia. It's just a matter of how you talk to them, even by getting darkside points, you can talk your way out of bad influence if you make it appear to be light, or ask if the character is okay.
SPOILER- for example on Citadel station I killed the droid repair guy and then asked Atton if he was okay- got dark side points and still gained influence with Atton.
Although killing everything in your path tends to annoy Kreia... what a freak- great Sith lord yeah right.

Only played through once so far, managed to convert BD, Handmaiden and Atton fairly easily, but couldn't convert Mira to save my life.

Can Hanharr become a Jedi? err Sith?
Spoiler:
When you get back to the ebon hawk after beating nar shaddaa, exhaust all of your options with mira, then tell her she seems restless, be nice to her and agree about nar shaddaa, tell her about what kreia showed you, then take her to that spot and do the same thing for her, ta da instant Jedi. Really her and Disciple have been the easiest to turn Jedi at least for me
