Transit?

In the instruction book it says you can transit back to the ship
if in a certain area now in the first game this option was on
the map screen I cannot find it there or anywhere else did they
forget to add it?

Can anyone else transit back to the ship or is it just me?
By the way I am playing the PC version.

The manual also says there's a defensive combat behavior. Don't believe everything the manual says. There's no transit from your map but certain areas have built in transit methods.
