I said I thought it would, not that I thought it ought to based on my opinion of it. One can know what the likely contenders are without having seen them.
Do you have guesses for best cinematographer, or you people dont pay any atention to them anymore. Nowadays people think that the producer is the person behind the movie and not the director and cinematographer. Thet really disapoints me

and makes me really mad
It is true when it comes to Jerry Bruckheimer blockbusters though, isn't it? Other than those sort of big-budget movies, I don't think that's true at all. The director is still the one who gets the credit. Cinematographers deserve more credit though, true.
The only reason I didn't post more predictions, by the way, is because I am posting from work and I didn't have time to type much more than that before I had to go do some work.
@CM Yeah, that's why I picked Scorsese for best director. It was his sixth nomination, having missed out to people like Robert Redford and Kevin Costner

and I really think he deserves to win one, being one of the best directors of our time, albeit that The Aviator may not be his best ever film.
@IM I would think it's safe to assume that Foxx was more impressive in Ray than in Collateral - don't get me wrong, I think he was good in Collateral, but it's not quite such worthy material, is it?
