Well, I looked for this year's Oscars thread and couldn't find one, so I made a new one. So, tonight's the night.

I'm expecting the following winners:
- Million Dollar Baby for Best Picture
- Martin Scorsese for Best Director
- Jamie Foxx for Best Actor
- Hilary Swank for Best Actress

I'll be surprised if any of them don't win.

We've got an Oscars sweepstake at work. I drew Alan Alda for Best Supporting Actor... I'm not counting on getting my money back.

It is getting slightly annoying how the studios seem to delay release dates for the big Oscar contenders, because they don't come out over here until a couple of weeks before the awards. I still haven't managed to get to see The Aviator, Million Dollar Baby or Ray. :(

If you havent seen them, then why do you think million dollar baby will win?
Do you have guesses for best cinematographer, or you people dont pay any atention to them anymore. Nowadays people think that the producer is the person behind the movie and not the director and cinematographer. Thet really disapoints me  and makes me really mad

What time will the oscars start in America? In Russia ill get to see it live at 4 am :o cant wait to see the show...

Personally Martin Scorsese i think deserves to win. He has been nominated 5 times. I am not sure why those idiots failed to give it to him any of those five times.

Hmm... I still think Foxx should've gotten an award for Collateral.

They've given waaay to many awards to The Aviator

I said I thought it would, not that I thought it ought to based on my opinion of it. One can know what the likely contenders are without having seen them.

It is true when it comes to Jerry Bruckheimer blockbusters though, isn't it? Other than those sort of big-budget movies, I don't think that's true at all. The director is still the one who gets the credit. Cinematographers deserve more credit though, true.

The only reason I didn't post more predictions, by the way, is because I am posting from work and I didn't have time to type much more than that before I had to go do some work. ;)

@CM Yeah, that's why I picked Scorsese for best director. It was his sixth nomination, having missed out to people like Robert Redford and Kevin Costner  and I really think he deserves to win one, being one of the best directors of our time, albeit that The Aviator may not be his best ever film.

@IM I would think it's safe to assume that Foxx was more impressive in Ray than in Collateral - don't get me wrong, I think he was good in Collateral, but it's not quite such worthy material, is it?

Hey Than *hug* Quit spamming my thread! :D
