End Game

Post by kingston »

Hi,
I am nearing the end but don't see any light at the end of the tunnel.

I am in the golden temple and packing an arsenal of weapons! However they just won't die! I shoot them 6 times at point blank range with shotguns and magnums and .50 caliber but they just keep getting back up!

I have even hacked my way through them with the sword and the bush hook but I just get overwhelmed with numbers, there simply is just too many foes to defeat.

It has almost got to the point where I feel like walking away from the game and starting a new one.

Is there another way to get passed?

Please help!

I'm going to assume you have not invested in stealth.

Make use of the enviroment.
Like jack said: You are a vampire so what, you can stil die, use that brain of yours.
In this case that means do not rush the army of defenders. Outside there are the rooms seperating the gardens. Use those as choke points. If you can't handle the rush pull back into a previous garden.
Inside same trick applies. Do not rush them, shoot one then go back a room or two to stop the entire area from piling onto you.

tactics

Vampire is a 'sneak and bite' not an 'hack and slash' game.

In some places, despite your individual superiority over the enemy, the sheer number of appropriate foes will bring you down. It is the law of the jungle and the sea - large and quite dangerous beasts can be brought down by smaller ones - killer whales cannot beat their prey individually, but a pod of killer whales can exhaust their quarry, so getting to kill the whale calf victim.

Same in Mings - follow the teachings of Sun Tzu - use the environment: doorways are natural 'choke points' and therefore limit your required angle of defence. one of the risks of fighting a Bruce Lee style battle is that you can get hit from more than one side and the enemies with ranged weapons can do damage whilst you are pinned down. it is a common military strategy to 'pin down' an enemy so that ranged weapons can do damage - I use it quite regularly in "Rome Total War" - hitting the rear ranks of an engaged infantry unit using catapaults or bowmen. In VtMB - the player is the only one to be at risk from that and mobility to evade is crucial, so do not let yourself get caught up by melee weapons (knives, swords etc) whilst facing ranged (crossbows).

the enemy re-spawn BTW, so gun-play really doesn't work until the basement levels.
I know this because my sneaker was doing sneak kills only to find the dead guard being replaced almost instantly - it takes something like 4 kills to stop re-spawning. so multiply the enemy by 4 and pass me the ammo belts!
