If so, where are the best places to sell gear for maximum credits? Thanks.

I believe the Duros on Telos (the 'illegal' one) pays you more when you've gathered the three things for him. The droid in Iziz will probably also have good prices after you've repaired him, but that's a one-timer, since you cannot return to him.
