Snow Troll

Post by Omikron »

Okay Im sure this has been dealt with before, but humor me here...I've played the game through 9-10 times now and Im getting bored of things to discover and do....maybe I just need a new game to play :p

So I pulled this off some other website, can this actually be done, or is the "Snow Troll" quest something the developers removed like the Dragons, or is it just to show the newbies that other quest's can be done later on in the game....anyone tried this?...just want to know before I get my knee's deep in civillian blood...

"When you first start the game, kill everyone in the Hero's Guild to get renown until you reach Legendary status. This may take awhile. When you have Legendary status, you will be able to take the normally "undoable" quests. Take the Snow Troll quest and go to the Hero's Guild Cullis Gate, where you will see that a Cullis Gate has been activated on the Hook Coast. Go there, then find and defeat the Snow Troll. He is just like an Earth Troll, but is white. When you have defeated him, look behind the rock near where you first fought him. You will see a Haircut Card. Pick it up. You will see that you now have the Developer Style haircut. Teleport back to the Hero's Guild, play the game, and enjoy."

thanks guys,

dummy quests...

sounds like another farce to me... the "un-do-able" Quests that you get at the start are just Dummy Quests, check out the other topic to do with these Dummy Quests...

as soon as you reach Level 3 Reknown these Quests will vanish!

Many have tried, but it can't be done. If you do get your renown to legendary and manage to take it, the quest just disappears when you reach the area it supposedly takes place. A modder I know from the Lionhead Software boards even checked the code for the game, there isn't even a graphic for a snow troll on the disk.

The 3 quests at the beginning are supposedly taken by other heroes. They technically are remnants of something taken from the game, since at one point the game was more focused on you competing with other heroes and that's when they were put in.

They are OBJECT_DUMMY_QUEST_ objects. Can't be done, they disappear at Level 2 renown not Level 3.

possibly my greatest acheivment ever would be a totally maxed out chararcter before i even took the wasp queen quest card (dont think im lying because its true, although it did take several weeks disecting guards in the guild)

I like to do the same... I like to max out everything before taking anyother quest cuz I like to feel powerfull hehehe :D and also be bad first and good later cuz is the only way you can master spells that are for purely for evils and good... as berserek, only evil characters can master this one... ;)
 :D :) ;) :p

I've seen this quest many times,I'm pretty sure its un-doable because if you could teleport to the coast for the quest whats stopping you from teleporting there in the ending when you chase jack and whatnot.probably planned on using it but got cut due to story changes.

otherwise there would be no need to slaughter all those undead in the first hook coast quest
