Lore

What does the lore statistic do? the smaller the number, the bigger the chance to hit someone with a bow/missile weapon? that'd be my guess, but I honestly don't know.

Lore is a skill that every class has, but Bard's have in abundance. It is a rating that allows character's to identify magical items. The higher the number, the higher the level of magical item that can be identified simply by right clicking on it in the inventory screen, which implies the character is looking closer at the weapon/item. Intelligence and Wisdom affect this ability as does class. Bard's have the highest lore, followed by thiefs and wizards. Fighters of all types have a lower lore skill. I hope that helps answer your question.
