If you killed him because he's evil you should know that you can change his alignment to Chaotic Good if you say the right things to him. He retains his edge, but he gains a sense of honor as well.

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

When armed with the Ravager +6, Sarevok is truly a force to be reckoned with. No other NPC comes close to his combat prowess (not even Keldorn with the upgraded Carsomyr +6). He really is the best ally you can find.

The change in alignment is determined by what you say to him in three random conversations he'll start up. Be decent but don't cut him any slack either and after the third encounter he'll become Chaotic Good.
