Best ranged weapons?

Post by Noober »

I was wondering what would be a good ranged weapon for my main character to finish the game with? If possible, if the location is fixed, could you also give the location?

Well that all depends on how you play it, are you a two weapon fighter or a dueler?
If the former then I'd go for two Heavy Zabrak Blasters fully upgraded, or a couple of Mandalorian Rippers.
If the latter then you can either go for the Mandalorian Heavy Repeating Blaster or the Mandalorian Assault Rifle or if your feeling adventerous the Charric. Upgrade them and they should serve you well.

I'd say heavy mandalorian repeating blaster...if you take the time to upgrade this FULLY using components and crafting this can easily break 40-50 max dmg...using this with master rapid shot is very deadly

In my opinion a fully upgraded Charric is the best ranged weapon.

I thought for the dueller bonuses to apply, you must be using a one handed weapon with your off-hand free.

Which means that the best weapon for a dueller is the best pistol you can get, same as the best weapon for a two weapon fighter.

Did you mean if he is a two weapon fighter or two handed weapon fighter?

Thanks for the help. I was wondering, what exactly is the advantage of a repeating weapon? Does it offer one more attack per round?

I think they have a higher damage output to "ape" the effect of having a higher rate of fire :) .

In that case how is a Mandalorian Heavy Repeating Blaster (3-24, 20-20x2, MC: +1-10) more desirable then a Zersium Rifle (3-25, 19-20x2, +1AB) unless the +1-10 on the Mandalorian HRB is not massive criticals?

No thats wrong, dueling means you only use the one weapon and that can be a single pistol or a rifle, or a single sword/lightsaber but not a double bladed weapon as that requires you to use both hands. So a dueler can use the best rifle in the game or a single pistol but not two without incurring massive penalties.

Two weapon fighting means you use two pistols or two swords/sabers or a single double bladed melee weapon

Well the in game description says "Characters that have mastered the use of single one-handed weapons..." and I'd assume that a rifle is a two-handed weapon.

Easy enough to see, equip a blaster pistol, check defense (and the attack rating). Equip a rifle, check the defense rating and attack rating. You will see that neither two weapon fighting or dueling feats make any difference for rifles. So great for HK since it doesn't get a lot of feats to begin with, might as well max out power blast and rapid shot instead of the duelling or two weapon fighting trees.

You will have to choose a character other than Kreia though since she can only ever use one handed weapons :D . I usually give it to Bao Dur though to help out his unarmed attacks. The difference is very pronounced when wielding a non-enhanced pistol and a non-enhanced rifle.

I wonder, is unarmed considered fighting with two separate weapons or with one single weapon. (I think the latter)
If so, I'd have to give Handmaiden (and Bao-Dur) those dueling feats...

Duelling says it applies to a single weapon handed or unarmed combat so you should def give it to handmaiden.

Yeah give to Bao. Handmaiden starts out with two slots in two weapon fighting when you get her though so might as well just give her a meelee weapon LOL.

Ah well, she's a soldier/guardian anyways, so might as well give her both and switch between unarmed and two lightsabers/swords. She has more feats than you know what to do with anyway.
