Wizard classes

What is a good wiz class in ur opinion? I have only tried Wizard and Necromancer classes and dont have any experience about others. Please share ur knowledge and tell, wich is useful and good wizard class(es). Or do they have difference at all?

Since the bonus spell can be from any school you are able to cast the best way to pick would be to concentrate on what school you don't want to cast (instead of thinking about the school you do want to cast). Its a little backwards.

I've had very good luck with my diviner, I just use my clerics as my conjurers since thats the school she can't cast.

The great thing about Icewind Dale II is that you can have multiple mages of different varieties in your party. Try using two mages of opposing schools for instance, if you don't want to be counted out from using certain spells. Envoker/Conjuror would seem like a good team to me.

After trying out a Conjurer I ended up using Generalist mages :) Those few extra spells simply don't worth the loss of spells of the opposite school, imho. A Generalist with high enough INT gets enough spells anyway ;)
