bhaal dream problem
bhaal dream problem
I'm having a problem with the dream you have in spellhold where you have to fight bhaal. I can't get him to follow me into the building where Imoen is, so it's impossible for me to kill him. I had some trouble before with a monk moving too fast for Bhaal to catch up, but this is a sorcerer and I even took the boots of speed off, but Bhaal still won't follow me. Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
Attack him to near death (You have to do that whether he follows you or not). Then just walk as slowly as possible, making sure you're still able to see him, though.
It is here! The inevatibility is here! Fear it, and it will fear you! Defy it, and it will kill you! Insanity doesn't exist!! By the way why can't I delete private messages?

I tried it again and it still won't work. I even used a spell to knock Bhaal into the doorway, but he still won't follow me. This is the first time I've tried this part of the game since using the 26498 patch. Does anybody know if this makes a difference? Otherwise, what is that shapechange thing you were talking about?
You can shapechange into a mind flayer using the appropraite spell scroll and Intelligence-drain Bhaal to death.
Just to be a little more thorough- normally the way that you kill things in SOA/TOB is by attacking them and doing damage. Whatever you attack dies when its HP are reduced to 0. However, another way to kill something is through stat drain. What you do is attack someone with a weapon that drains a stat point (str, dex, etc.) every time you hit. There are a few weapons out there that do this (there was a recent thread about this actually).
Mind Flayer attacks drain intelligence. So, if you were to use a scroll of Shapechange you could transform into a Mind Flayer and attack Bhaal until one of his Int=0, then he would die.
As far as I know, stat draining will kill anything in the game, even supposedly unkillable NPCs. However, killing Bhaal this way may not trigger the necessary code to move out of the dream- I don't think you'll know until you try, but just be sure to save in a new save slot.

Thanks for the help everyone, but I've found that the most efficient way to do it is to just go inside where Imoen and use the command CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("PPBHAAL") to spawn a second Bhaal indoors. Once you kill the second Bhaal, the game proceeds normally. If anybody else has a problem with this dream, I would say use this solution.
