Help needed Downtown (SPOILERS)

Post by DarkFleur »

Please I'm in trouble with some quests in the game..... I don't know if it's considered as a spoiler...

Well, first, I can't find a way to go Downtown... and I couldn't find the clinic's airducts as well, I had to use persuasion with Vandal, The Blood Bank guy, so I could get in the backroom...

The other thing is, even with the console, I couldnt enter any cheat code!! It just appears before I load the game... and when it's loaded, when i type ~ nothing happens....

And Finally the Sabbat Warehouse... I'm playing a Female Tremere, And I don't have much strenght, so It's quite impossible for me to get through that guys.... they are strong, and too many.... I couldn't pass through the room where there are like 5, or 6 of them, I suffer a final death... What can i do?! Do I have to kill all of them to complete the quest, or can i just run fast and plant the explosives and let them do the rest?!
PLEASE help me!!! My email is darkfleur@hotmail.com , send me a message or add me to your contact list if you can help...

SPOILERS

To get to Downtown you must first have blown up the warehouse. If you've done that, you'll need to hail a cab. There's one near the diner in Santa Monica. You can take it to the Downtown area. If you're a Nosferatu, talk to Tung first and he'll give you a sewer guide. You'll need to take the sewers if you're of this clan.

As far as getting into the backroom, you can actually do so through moving a plank which in the laundry room. Remove it, and you can crawl through to the other side of the area. Check the Gamebanshee walkthrough for more details on all you need to do.

You can use stealth to get through some of the difficulty fighting in the warehouse. Keep low and look for ladders to crawl up. Check out the walkthrough for further tips.

In terms of combat, you should be fine as a Tremere. If you've got "Purge" (second level of Thaumaturgy), you've got a sizeable advantage over many other clans in heavy combat areas. My basic advice would be to use that and (if needed) Blood buff freely, and just try and drink blood from the last thug standing in given combat routines.

But, yes, you can avoid much of the fighting by using as much stealth as possible to get to the spot to plant explosives and then setting them off. You will have to do some fighting on your way out, but its not as overwhelming as walking into a room full of ten gunmen.

so pressing ~ during game play does not pop up the window to enter codes? You sure the shortcut is exact? I'm not to familer with the cheating on computer games but I do know Activision seems to like using the -console 1 thing because my Soldier of Fortune game had it.

If it worked in game you could always use the notarget code and be invisible...

~ doesn't bring up the console?

Just a quick check...

You've added the -console to the target line in the shortcut properties window, true?

The only way to close the console window is by pressing the ~ key again, otherwise the game will hang, etc. Are you just clicking the 'Load Game' thing without closing it? That's the only thing I can think of that would stuff it up... unless its possible to change the key that opens/closes the console window (and has been changed)?

Darkfleur, welcome to the forums. Please read the PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING thread. You've posted spoilers, and there are still people who don't want to open a thread only to find out details about the game they haven't encountered, yet.

I've changed your thread title. You'll need to do that next time yourself.

I've also tried to make the title a bit more relevant.

fret ye not

first, I suggest that you get all the possible side-quests done before you take on the warehouse. the warehouse is tough, so don't think you are being stupid.

I prefer to do a LOT of sneaking - sneak killing as many bad guys as possible before taking on any that I can't get to that way. at this point, the knife is the best assassination weapon.

there are quite a few ammo caches in the mission - including one behind a locked door and another on top of some stairs - plus lots of ammo in the back of the warehouse (under where you come in - behind the offices)

it is handy to get rid of as many bad guys as you want to avoid on the way out - when you are running against the clock after setting the astrolite, fighting takes up time and can leave you short of home when kaboom happens.

I usually sneak into the warehouse through the main door & ammo up as far as possible THEN go back out and over the top so that I can use missile attacks on those that I can't sneak-kill. as a tremere I found blood-strike perfect as an alternative to guns. stay on the very top level after climbing up by the engine - from there you can get rid of a few. In a couple of places, you can shoot shells which explode damaging those nearby.
as somebody else said - purge is useful when you get into melee.

if you aggressively feed on the sabbat, that reduces the net blood expenditure of the mission.

don't set the explosives until you are sure that you have a free-ish run to the exit - there are shotguns which helps - a maniac sabbat attacks you as you try to leave the warehouse proper

so - sneaking and bloodstrikes are a good way for a tremere to succeed in the sabbat warehouse.

may the wings of the raven cover you in shade.

hi

try the key at the left of the 1 - it brings up the console during the game if it has been loaded on start up.

Console

I can bring up the console, but only before I load my game.(its already opened when the start up comes) During the game it doesnt work.... And to load the game i have to close the console, becouse the options doesnt come without closing it.... and even typing "load" it doesnt work...

ok

when I tried the console, what happened was that it loaded as part of the start up then hung around on-screen before the game options finally kicked in. perhaps I used that key to close it or I minimised it to keep it working - I didn't use it hardly ever and took out the line for the console when I patched the game.

Well I have never tried but perhaps have you changed keys? Example you know how W is forward, I never looked but is it possible to change it to another key? Maybe somehow your ~ got changed without you knowing. I mean if its coming up at the start menu but thats it... who knows...
