[QUOTE=boo's daddy]Just for the benefit of other mac users, I did find one mod for mac: Darkest Day can be got from the Adventurer's Spa and Grill here

Fellow Mac user here: None of these links seem to go anywhere (outdated pages) and I would be very interested in trying a mod for the Mac if it exists. Any suggestions? Also, is there any sites you could recommend for advice on installing mods on a Mac? Thanks in advance for any advice, it's much appreciated. I really, really enjoy playing the BG series and any new twists would be a nice extra.

* high five fellow mac BG-er*

Shame. Apologetic squeaks for posting a dud site.

If you check out the weidu site, there was some suggestion that you can install certain mods using virtual PC. Looks a bit dodgy to me though, and I don't have VPC so pretty academic.

If someone wants to put up correct Mac links in our sticky thread, I'll gladly remove earlier references.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I'm a Mac user too, and the sad truth that I have found is that there is very little Mac content available- and none that I really trust enough to use (besides inserting NPCs maybe). This is unfortunate, but in line with expectations- I mean, we didn't get TOB converted for literally years... :(

"pound it" - for the Mac users :)

Yeah, that's the one thing I dislike about owning a Mac. Being a gamer is difficult. It's almost embarrasing to have friends bragging about how great a game is, then (if at all) 2 years later it's ported to the Mac. I've been through both games and the expansions a few times and I would love to be able to add some little extras to the game, but haven't had much success locating anything. I had VPC at one time, but it was so buggy and slow I quit using it.

2 Boo's Daddy: Hey man, I just appreciate you trying to spread the word that there is some stuff out there. Thanks. (if you ever get a lead on a new place to get it, PLEASE post)

Thanks to Fable also, for encouraging me to start a new thread on this in as an attempt to drum up some advice.

Some mini-mods for mac

Check out:

http://www.gibberlings3.net/downloads/index.php

They have some mini-mods and tweaks. Apparently there's a way to also get all of the Weidu stuff to work on Mac as well, but I still have not figured out how.

I recommend installing patches and other tweaks FIRST before adding the G3 stuff. The Kivan mod wasn't installing until I did that. Now only if they had a similar mod for Coran....

THANKS!
An interesting thing I discovered. I can't remember the thread but there was a link to download the bonus merchants that came on the pre-order BG collector's edition (I think), so just for the heck of it, I downloaded it and tried it...and it worked on my Mac! So if you can find that thread those bonus merchant files worked for me, I haven't had any problems yet. Maybe some of the mods out there would work as well w/o trying to find a Mac friendly version.
