Get out of My House!!!

Post by Skuld »

OK, so here's the situation. I've got a fully upgraded Hlaalu stronghold and there have been two useless Dunmer in my house (Rethan Manor) since I built the place. They have very little money so selling them anything I find at this stage in the game is a bust, and they don't have anything good to sell me either. All they do is stand at the entrance to the stairwell and block me from getting up and down. I'm presently stuck upstairs, and I've even taken a rest in my nice big bed for an hour and the bastard's still there. One would think there'd be an upstairs door out to the roof/balcony, but alas I'm on x-box and any such mods are out of the question. I'm just curious as to if this is a known issue and if there's a way around it. I'm contemplating just killing them.

It is a known issue. From what I understand, since you don't have access to mods, the only way round the problem is to dispose of their worthless hides.

If you're on the PC, bring up the console by using ~. Click on the blocking NPC, and note that his/her ID code appears in the console box. Now, type:

disable

That should remove him.

Well, I guess they're as good as dead.

He means removing the NPC, Eric, I think. As in temporarily from that location via the console, not killing them.

It would seem not fable. I had the same issue in the redoran stronghold, but it seems that "disposing" of the NPC did little to affect my standings in the house. I'd save first though, JIC ;)

No I mean killing them. If you could get me into a console on x-box I'd hug you, but alas it's impossible.

Honestly.. You have to wonder at Besthesda's sense of logic with design, size and/or NPC placement when it comes to the strongholds.... It is the same with ordinators who constantly block doorways in Vivec... as though we don't already have enough incentive to eliminate them! :D

btw, another option you might want to consier is taking over a certain plantation in the Ascadian Isles region.... Many factions want the said owners dead anyway, and to boot it is nice and roomy.

I could do the old command humanoid trick. I've done it multiple times to steal items in plain sight. But if I did kill 'em I'd definately taunt them first.

There's also a Frenzy Humanoid spell in the game.

You could teleport out with an intervention or recall.
