@ik: I never saw birthday threads as an attempt to postfarm. Just like what Magrus mentioned, I see them as a way of showing some affection and appreciation to a member and have this feeling of "community" among us. :)

Sorry for the belated response, but I have been out enjoying the lovely weather for the last couple of days, something that is unheard of in England on a bank holiday weekend!
