spellcaster party??

Post by Squee »

Is it possible to create a party consisting only of wizards and sorcerers, no dual classing? It's a fun idea... How would you create such a party to maximise the destructive power?
You guys are my best friends, we've always been together, we're four of a kind laughing all day and palling away, we're best friends!

Certainly its possible. I wouldn't want to do that without at least a healer in there somewhere (maybe a bard?), but even that isn't absolutely mandatory. With mirror image, a mage can take a whole lot of punishment, even magical attacks from your own people, before actually taking damage. If you make them all drow (or deep gnome) then you're truly devastating.

Or as an alternative just summon stacks of things to take damage, but yes you would have problems being healed, unless you like resting for days at a time.
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.

I think almost any party can make it through the game. The question is how many times you'll have to reload. I'd only have problems with this type of party in that you have nobody to save you or get in the way when the spells run out, and they will with the hordes attacking you. I'd suggest specializing your mages and using sorcerers pumped up with magic missile and the like. Area effect spells to take out the hordes would also be my advice. Have fun if you try this and keep us updated, as it sounds like it will be an interesting experience.
