Does anyone know if any shield mods work?
What does the term "Shields: +X" mean? X being a rating for a particular shield. Is this the armor rating? Other pieces of equipment use the term "Armor +X".
Also, I have noticed that none of the elemental protection mods are reflected in a characters Pro resistance categories. I have assumed that this is because they don't work right now, is that correct?
So, I am confused as to whether or not shields currently have any value currently aside from blocking and asthetics.
Help me figure this out. I saved a game in which I have the dragon shield, but what good is putting all those points into shield skills?
Shields Question
some parts are working
not sure if some shields are working, and some arent, or all are patially bugged... but, I was fighting fire drakes, so naturally I decided to use a shield with higher fire protection, and the change DID reflect on my characters resists. (got my fire resist from 15% to 65% if I remember correctly) This was a few weeks ago, and before I updated to v1.1. However, I'll look into it and see what happens

I read elsewhere that shield resistances only apply to protecting the shield itself. That way, a shield with 100% fire resistance won't get damaged by dragon fire, etc. ANd, the defence rating is applied to the shield also. So, shields are a defense system unto themselves. Since I don't use my shield much, I figured that a target shield is as good for me as a Dragon Shield. Both protect you exactly the same. Only difference is that one degrades faster than the other. But, since I don't use my shield and can pick one up in seconds if needed, why bother with a good one, except for the asthetic effect?
This will change perhaps if repair is fixed and I can be sure my skill points in medium or heavy shield aren't wasted on something that will disappear at some point.

I also tought that a target shield = a larger ones but I was wrong. A shield bonus +X% resistance is applied when you parry a given spell type. For example I tried to fight a drake with a buckler, no matter how much time I press the parry button he fries me like a roasted chicken with both his fireballs and his firebreath. Then I've tried to fight him with a +25% fire resistance shield (Grim shield, medium, the one from Barrowgrim Marauders/soldiers), and sometimes it soaked my damage, sometimes (expecially with the breath attack) the drake roasted me.
Lastly, I've tried with a +50% fire res shield (Evil Shield, large the green one with the silly smiling idiot over it), and when I parry I absorb the whole damage.
I tried this in a single fight, not at different times, so all my other statistics kept being the same for the whole duration of the experiment.
Another experiment I did, was with the Evil shield (+50% Fire/Ice) and the Demon Shield (+100% magic). Fighting agains the Blade Witches, the bondage/semi-naked female elves with sword&shield found in the Vale of Ruins, they cast fireballs against me. No chance to parry those with the Demon shield, while they rarely strike at me with the Evil shield. In the same area, you also encounter SomethingDunno Guards, some red/blue idiots with long spears that throw at you purple bolts. Quite difficult to parry those blows with the Evil shield, they seem unable to pierce my defence with the Demon one (wich they drop btw).
So I believe that +X% applies to your resistance when you're actively parrying a blow of that given element. The +shield instead is a mistery to me, but seems to be useless.

This might be a stupid question,
Howcome I cannot repair a damaged shield?
I went to all shops and blacksmiths and click the repair icon, then it just return to my shopping menu, without the shield being repaired.
The shield statistic is not changed, showing x percent damaged.
Is this a bug? I patched the game to ver 1.2.
Fyi, I think I had plenty of money to pay the repair price.
