Hengeyokai--Spoilers
Hengeyokai--Spoilers
What is your favorite way to get rid of this guy?? I have trouble with him every time and can't manage to kill him before he kills Yukie.

If you really want to suck all of the fun out of shark-boy (no pun intended), the easiest way is to empty automatic weapons into him until he forgets about Yukie, lead him over to one of the nitrogen tanks, and fire a shotgun at the tank. Frozen chondrichthyes, anyone? I've only lost Yukie about three times in 18 or so games. The only way you can really get her killed is to leave shark-boy to her - she can't kill it alone.
(Oh, and chondrichthyes? Sharks belong to the class of creatures called 'cartilaginous fishes'. They don't actually have bone skeletons - their skeletons are made entirely of cartilage.)

Proximity plays a factor. The closer you are to Hengeyokai, the more likely he is to come after you when you attack him. With good timing, you can move in and get his attention, then move back just in time to avoid his attack and fire off a few rounds. Using this method, I consistantly take him down without taking a single point of damage myself. It's especially easy for characters with Celerity, but anyone can do it. Just a matter of timing.
Oh yeah! - If you're Tremere, use Blood Strike. Works like a charm on him and Ming Xao. Empty your blood bar, fill her up, rinse and repeat.

Have you tried getting about 1/3rd off his aft starboard quarter? You have to be more or less opposite Yukie to distract the Hengeyokai from attacking her, but getting right opposite Yukie is a bad move, too, because then you might accidentally kill her. Getting behind him more or less 30 degrees off directly opposite Yukie seems to work best. Yes, that means you shoot the demon in the back. It's a demon. So what?

Why on earth would you want to save that nasty little vampire hunter want to be school girl cliche? My tactic has always been to wait till he is laying into her, walk around behind him, and blast him with a few rounds casualy...
... Oddly, he's never killed her while I've done this, despite my best efforts to finish his work afterwards.

Honor among night-crawlers
Yukie has never done anything to my PC but treat her respectfully and give her fair warning of the consequences of getting in the way, and I have no other cause to harm Yukie. She deals honorably with me, so I deal honorably with her. I told her I would help her, so I do. Don't get me wrong, I won't cry a dry tear if Yukie dies, but I will hold up my end of the arrangement to the best of my ability, and if she were to turn on me, I'd off her in a heartbeat.
This is the very essence of Japanese culture. Honor. Honor among friends, and honor among enemies. If my PC is prepared to inform Ming Xiao of my presence in her domain out of respect for her traditions, why would I deal with Yukie in a less honorable manner when I already know that Ming Xiao has sent a spy into Santa Monica and thus earned my wrath? That's my sole motivation for wiping out the Kuei-Jin - they have shown that they are at war my kind. Yukie may be a hunter, but she's nonetheless an innocent.

There is NOTHING innocent about any hunter. They are ruthless, unthinking killing machines that don't stop for a second to consider that there might be a scared, helpless, innocent person bewteen them and an evil, rampaging vampire... Or, god forbid, that the vampire might be a scared, innocent person who has no desire to kill or be killed. Her constant, disrespect to my character, despite how polite he was in kindly requesting that he be adressed by his name rather then the almost physical SPAT word demon, and the constant reminder that she would kill me if she felt so inclined at any time would have been enough to make me dislike her, but there was one additional thing that made me stand back and sneer when the time came to kill the Rokea...
The Arrogance to belive that she could in some way stand up to me if it came to blows. Like so much vaunted "honor" from such people, asian and non asian alike, it was all fine for her as long as it was convient for her, otherwise I was just another filithy white devil who she clearly would have stabbed in the back as happily as she would have the face after polite conversation. The pathetic little school girl whelp was bearly out of diapers and was trying to tell me how things were giong to be. If I'd had my way, I would have embraced her and left her to see how she liked wandering around, meeting people she had no qualm with who promptly decided to hate her off the cuff based on what she drank rather then who she was and constantly called her "Beast" to her face.
Someone keeps calling me ****-Lick to my face I get angry too.
As for the fishy-guy. Yes, the Rokea are the guardians of the ocean. Like werewolves, they change forms bewteen men, sharks, men sharks, and giant sharks... Creepy! As if not being able to see under the dark dark water and knowing there was a shark there wasn't terrifying enough, now add that it's intelligent and massive... Ick, no thanks!

My, such anger! Yukie isn't like, for example, Bach. Bach is just out to kill vampires. Full stop. No why, just pure 'holy' rage. Yukie became a hunter to avenge the slaughter of her master, who took her in after the slaughter of her parents. Even knowing what my character is, she makes it clear that she has no quarrel with me unless I stand in her way. Even after Zygaena is dead, she has no quarrel with me, and doesn't even have any interest in cleaning out the Kindred in LA. Does that sound like something Bach would do? That's why Yukie, while a hunter, is also an innocent. She doesn't kill arbitrarily. She, like my character, requires a reason. Perhaps that's why I can relate to her.

Thats true. Don't get me wrong, I gave the girl a (less then) sporting chance by not popping her in the back of the head as soon as I thought I could take down Fishy McFish alone... Suffice to say I wouldn't have given Bach such leway if he had bothered to have a conversation with me at any stage.
That being said however, one could argue that Bach is less mis-guided and randomly angry then YukYuk over there. After all, if a German man steals some change from me, I don't hold it against all of Germany. If a Korean man eats the last slice of cake, I don't hate all of Korea... And so on and so forth. Yukie hates vampires because a fish man killed her master?? I'm sure theres some link in her mind... Like Vampires drink blood, blood contains water, fish swim in water, so all vampires are evil fish men lovers... Or more exactly, that demons of such nature are often mostly similar in her culture, all with similar motivations. (unless it's one of those adorable Kappa, I always wanted to make one bow!)
As for Bach, he's a fervently religious man. He belives in God, and he knows about vampires... The end conculsion is pretty logical. God cursed Caine for murder, and declared him anathema. Caine spread his curse to his bloodthirsty children, and those children now suffer it untill someone like Bach can come along and free them from the curse with holy fire. In his mind, he's doing their trapped soul a favour.
Then again, he's still a nut case, and I wish I could have played a Tremere with Movement Of The Mind rather then Path Of Blood so I could have just pluked him forwards off that balcony and into the flames below, uttering some cliche one liner like:
"Best get used to flames Bach, there'll be more where your going."
or
"Try and understand the humor I find in a rightous man dying in his own cleansing flames."
or just
"You sparked this hell, and it looks like God sent me to cast you into it."
You know, something like that.

No reason to kill pretty girls, unless they try to do me harm. Esthetics before Ethics
(guess which clan I played).
The way I went about is:
Let Yukie do the knife work and keep your distance.
Use something heavy, but not the shotguns (this usually ends up being the colt, with the added advantage of long range), to do max damage to fishboy and min damage to schoolgirl. And aim well... Of course you need to have a fair score in firearms.
Best position: far to the left of Yukie/right of Fishboy.

I think that God in creating man somewhat overestimated his ability.

good ranged skills are essential or yukie goes down.
I like the frozen shark - it amuses me.
automatic fire risks Yukie, so single shot is best. you want to shoot your target, not spray the area.
when I have shark-boy weakened, then I slice him to sushi to avoid the little bukkake-target getting hurt

Who dares, smirks!
what else would Yukie do after all that excitement?
Wong's daughter had already cleaned up on the rope-bondage angle (although Bach and the Professor clearly had their moment and interestingly enough Ash is put in a cage too)
to reiterate, single-shot is more accurate and thus more useful in certain situations. head shots get more points.
