Faces in Smoke
Faces in Smoke
Ok now, when my dad told me this I acctually wondered if these had been edited or not, but... apparently they haven't. I don't know if anyone posted about this before - I did a search on it, came out negative - but this is it.
Apparently, on September 11th many pictures were taken of the Twin Towers, as they burned and fell - but a handful of images of the World Trade Center fire reveal the face of Satan, the Devil, whatever you want to call him.
Now, I found this little link http://www.snopes.com/rumors/wtcface.htm it has pictures on it, but this one's better
http://members.lycos.co.uk/brisray/optill/oface4.htm still, both links are worth checking out.
Now apparently, the AP picture desk - has a very strict written policy which prohibits the alteration of content of a photo in any way. So the pictures are indeed, authentic. There's also this link, http://9news.com/newsroom/13294.html which has some extra info on it.
So what do you guys think about that... shots, angles, lighting - during the same event. All depicting the unquestionable image of Lucifer. Kinda gives ya shivers, if you believe in that sort of thing. What do you guys think?

While I believe in the supernatural and unexplicable, that's just people with over-active imaginations playing with camera's to me. If I took a camera and took countless pictures of a forest on a windy day, I'm sure the leaves would end up looking like something at some point during their erratic movements.
Oh, btw, Happy belated Birthday Adahn.

If I try *really* hard, I can see the suggestion of a triangular face within the smoke. But, you can see many things in smoke, clouds and various other natural phenomena. I think this is just a case of some people having *very* overactive imaginations.

I think this quote from the first link says it all:
(oh - and personally - I think there are to many wierdos in this world when looking at some of the interpretations of these "faces" )Finding demonic images in photographs and other visual representations — especially those depicting scenes of death and disaster — is an age-old human behavior employed to ascribe catastrophes to evil forces beyond our control, or (as in the following example) to fix blame on a target of choice (rather than the real perpetrators)

Anyway, yeah it's true. The image changes in mere seconds. If it was an image that 'looked like Satan' which stood static in the air for I don't know... fifteen seconds. It would merit a bit more attention.

Or *very* lax pharmacists who let them overdose on their medication
In the pictures from the first link, if I look really hard, I can make out the "face" - but how does one come to the conclusion that it's the face of Satan? I genuinely don't get that leap of faith.
And I'll second Mag - happy belated birthday, Adahn!

I sincerely wish we could re-consider this plan from a perspective that involved pants.
Your welcome.
I've seen some strange things, and had the impression they were done with the involvement of "higher powers" or what have you. I just think that incident was once of mortal design and that's that. *shrugs* It doesn't take an evil other-worldly being to make someone crave violent action and act upon those cravings. That's a human thing there.
Now, if you could get me a rock with a demonic face in the face of it, like one of those fossils with a skeleton in it? That'd be something.

Thanks ^____^
Sure, I mean if I was the devil, I wouldn't have wasted my time doing that, the only reason I'd have appeared was to say "It wasn't me!" or something like that ^^, maybe even just laugh at human's nature.

Take it from some one who knows: God likes to show off, but satan would rather have you believe that he doesn't exist. I dunno what the faces mean. Maybe it's just the ghost of a forgotten employee who finally escaped his cubicle through death.
And photoshop helps loads too...
Rather reminds me of the document forgeries committed during the early Renaissance by various RCC sources to offer "proof" that the Bishop of Rome had been intended to lead Christianity. I don't say this to denigrate Roman Catholicism or its worshippers, but because the forgeries were done by people out to prove some point of dogma at the expense of the "merely factual." If someone were to use photoshop to do this today, they would merely be clasping hands with their more primitive counterparts who had to rely upon ink and parchment.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Yeah, exactly. It couldn't be a good thing, of some higher power trying to save those people could it?

I see a duck and a pair of gloves. Typical symbols stupidity and a future violent duel. I think the traditional psychodynamic psychologists could start using this picture instead of the old Rorschach Ink blot test
The human mind is very susceptible to identifying meaningful patterns also in random events. That's how superstition and prejudice is formed.

*laughs* someone tried that stupid ink blot test on me. I frustrated that doctor so horribly he ended the session early and made me wait in the wating room for my mother to get there. I didn't see anything but inkblots that kind of looked like beetles. He said I HAD to see something, and I asked him what he said. He said it didn't matter, and I said, well, if you think I have to see something other than that, this test doesn't work does it?
