He'll complain a bit, but he won't leave. In fact, you'll have a few conversations with him throughout the game.

If you forgive him for all his past crimes, and consider this his "second chance" so to speak, you can actually change his alignment from chaotic evil to chaotic good.

Actually being nice to him isn't what changes him. You have to get in his face a little a make sure he knows that what he did was wrong. Picking the nicest answers will not change his outlook (You need a neutral approach).
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

I picked the nicest answers, and his alignment changed. I told him that I held no grudge for his past crimes, whenever it came up. So there. :p

So basically, all you have to do is not be angry at him. Is that what your trying to tell us? Bascially every time a dialogue comes up, just be nice and be forgiveful for his past actions. Hmmmm, I hope this works.
