Where to become Paladin?

Post by Nodscene »

I've checked both Fargrove and Arindale and neither place will let me become Paladin. So far I'm Adept/Fighter/Marauder and would like to pick up Paladin before doing the Trial of The Elders. Any help would be appreciated.

join the celestial order(I got the quest in fargrove), and they should let you promote to paladin off of your adept class.

That's my problem, I've been to both "temples" and I get no such options.

Did you join the Celestial Order? Did you complete the initiation quest for them?

SWC
Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

I don't remember if I have or not lol. I'll try going through all the dialogue options again and see what happens.

No becoming Paladin in Arindale

*
I started out as an Adept and joined the Mage guild in Fargrove
and the did most of the quests I needed and talked to Davenmoore.
I then proceeded to Arindale after first stopping off to return the
Staff of Scorching or some such item to a Wiccan in the Devil's Marsh.
That finished the Mages guild initiation quest.

I proceeded to Arindale with the idea of taking up Paladin as my first
second tier at the Celestial Order there. The head person in the Temple
had no options to join the order or become a Paladin and I can't go back
to Fargrove as it is closed.

I am wondering if the Paladin class is now closed to me. I would like to
get it before going to far for better armor and weapons. I would have
thought that I could picked up Paladin in Arindale. I now have to start
over or change my character's progression path and this really ticks me
off (very polite way of putting it). I can't believe Heuristic Park could
have put this on the market in this terrible shape.

Any help on getting the Paladin class????

I'm currently a paladin but i started the path in Fargrove so all I can say is maybe you'll be able to start the quest when you gat back to Fargrove. Be sure you didn't miss anything in the dialog with the celestial temple in arindale. Unless there is something in both of your second teir class slots then you should still be able to pick up paladin class. The other possiblity is that you told the celestial temple you were not interested they may not ask again. D

Did you recieve a quest to take a candle to a shrine at the top of a tower? If so, then you are a member of the adept guild. You do have to join the guild even if you are already the proper class.

I got the Celestial Quest

I had to load a old save game that I was lucky to have found. I had left
Fargrove and was on the way to Arindale. I just turned around and went
back to the temple and got the join the Celestial Order choice. I took
the choice and was given the Initiation Quest. I get the feeling that you
have to finish the Initiation Quest before you get the chance to pick up
the Paladin class. I thought that by being an Adept put my character
in the Celestial Order from wrongly reading the Class Progression tables.

I am now off to place the candle at the Celestial Shrine just south of
Bolen Fields and will return to Fargrove after that to pick up the Paladin
Quest. I am just lucky to have had that old save game or I would have
had to start over as it is I lost 1.5 levels but still luckier that I did not
lose the finished Mage Quest so now I am a level 11 Adept/Mage on my
way to becoming an Adept/Mage/Paladin to be. I hope.

ferncliff, thanks for the reply.

Nothing was offered in Arindale so you have to join the Celestial Order in
Fargrove first and do the Initiation Quest there or you can't proceed in
the Celestial class.

See my post just posted before this reply and it explains what I did wrong
as the join the Celestial Order may only be available in Fargrove and that
would explain why nothing showed up in Arindale. I got lucky and found
an old save file that put me back before the lockdown of Fargrove

See my post it is #9 on this thread

Nodscene, see my post earlier,it is number 9 on this thread. You have
to do the Celestial Initiation Quest and when you have done that it will
open up the choice to become a Paladin. I think you can only get the
Initiation Quest to 'join the Celesial Order' in Fargrove as I had the same
problem as you are having. You must join the Celestial Order and fulfill
that quest first before you can become a Paladin.

Paladin Requirement

I am level 11, have all attributes in forties and fifties, have medium armor and shield at 5, celestial magic at 9, high medium weapons, etc.

I get Paladin and Celestial choices and only Celestial works :(
The priest says I do not have the requirements! I am about to lose it! Anyone have an idea?

My first guess is Rune Magic.
