Scather and the Mod

Post by sparhawk_tr »

I need to get back the original description of this weapon. Some one may love it but a holy avenger +4 is a little bit over powered. But i have to admit that it is not the only reason. I leveled up my cleric (neutral-good) to use that weapon as a greatsword. I tried a lot of mods but doesn't work to make it original. I also tired to edit the longdescription.mes and description.mes . But couldn't do that. I tried Livona's Mod and VickesWedge. Both of are the same for that weapon.
Anybody can help me about this? Thanks in advance.

P.S Please do not advice me to re-install the game

How did it install in the first place? If you check the files it edited/ added you may be able to revert.

SilverDrags. Faq has some answers regarding changing properties of in-game items........

Fragarach & Scather were intentionally Bastard Sword & Greatsword, but were eventually made 'bastards' by C08 & patch 2 by Atari...

Lots of people made complaints of theese blades, since Fx with Greatsword focus would not get any bonuses.Always remember that in order to wield the blades two-handed you need to have mart.wpn.all skill, and as one handed wpns, you'll need 'Exotic: B.Sword' Small pc's can only wield the 'Frag&SCather' as 'greatswords' anyway....

You can weild fraggy two-handed even without proficiency, and it won't even hurt you, because it always hits. To use it one-handed, you must have the exotic feat, however, but you might as well just use a buckler, since the game seems to give you that shield bonus anyway, plus you get more strength bonus to damage.

I'm not sure if a small character can wield scather at all. Normally greatswords are too large for them. You may be able to do the trick where you cast enlarge on them, equip it, and when the spell runs out they still have it equipped, but as soon as you unequip it, you'll need another enlarge spell.... plus this is cheating. :D
