naga temple jump

I have worn out 10 pairs of boots, made grooves in the stairs and killed 10,000 snakes but I still cannot jump over the trap, I have tried stepping, cannot jump onto the ledge at the end. Read all the suggestions I can find.
Apart from giving up, any suggestions?

All I can say is what I did. I had athletics up to 4 and ran at the trapdoor. I hit the jump key (while running) about one step onto the trapdoor.

I have run through the temple twice and I think I only fell in two or three times.

Edit: Heck, you can post or email your savegame (in front of the trapdoor) and some of us can try.

I may even get desperate enough to try that, not sure how to post my game for someone to do the jump for me.
