Poll for new D20 system (If I can figure it out)

Post by Siberys »

Hello all, I am getting ready to create a new D20 system, but I have many ideas that I want to try. I ask that you vote for the new system you want to see made in the poll (If I can figure out how to make a poll that is)

Well, I've been wanting to make an RPG based off of the Shining Force series from Sega for years. If you're up for that, I'll go for it. :p

Out of that list, I'd say a mutant one. Just because, you end up with the whole "super-hero" thing, with the mutant thing, and it doesn't necessarily have to be in any specific time setting.

I'd say I can't do shining force until I play it. I only put the top ten things I am familiar with up there. I can make pretty much anything out of those and once the top vote is in (Counting the three other forums I am posting a poll on as well) then I will make the requested D20 System. Me personally, I am hoping for either Diablo, Morrowind, or Mutants. But the decision is up to you all.

Definitely Transformers amongst that list. Sure, there may be better things, but... hey, I'm only going by this poll list. Loved TFs (almost all generations), and always will.

D20 Starcraft and D20 Superheroes already exist. And what the hell is this doing in the D&D forum? We have a Generic PnP forum.

Sry about that. Most other systems that aren't DND aren't d20 and I thought it better for D20 in the DND section. Though, it is your decision and I respect it.

EDIT: As to there already being a D20 starcraft and Superheroes, those are unnoficial, as will be mine. The least you could do is vote for something besides that then.

No problem mate. :)

The d&d forum is for d&d, not d20.
For instance; Modern is also discussed here, which also uses D20.

ANyway, back on topic.
Myself, I'd love to see a d20 system for the Transformers... but I think it will be pretty hard. Still, if sticking to normal cars which are easily mesured in performance and skill with the blaster... it's do-able.

out of curiosity, what makes them official? Does it need the Wizards of the Coast stamp on it to be official?

COnsidering that they both use the 3.5 SRD, which is free material, and then have built up their system from there, I'd say they are pretty 'official'.

Well that's a new one. I consider "official" products published from there site directy. So yeah, with the Wizards seal, that is official to me.

Though, I accept any corrections. I only know about the books that they have.

Anyway, I am just going to make a system for people to run off of. That is all.

Wizards is hardly the only purveying of D20 gaming books. For instance, there is also the Big Eyes Small Mouth d20 system, which is an anime based setting. Along with the (in progress) Argyle d20 system. In addition, there is a Trigun d20 system, not to mention the old (but good) Shadow Run system. Warcraft also holds a d20 system.

Wizards simply has the most press of all these. Having created 3.0/3.5, and thus the System Resource Document, people tend to associate all d20 to them, which just isn't the case.

I do agree with you on that subject. I think that it would be rather redundant for other people to have not made a new system.

Now, onto the subject at hand. It's been three days or so, and I only got 4 (Including the other forum) votes. That sucks. Oh well. If nobody else votes, then it is obvious that I will start with a Mutant X-men.

I'll give it to the 3rd to see if anybody votes, then if nobody votes, I'll just start the system. Sorry Galuf, it looks like transformers is second in line, but I will make it. After the winner of course, unless it IS the winner. Then you'll be happy. :)

Ok people, It is now 9:38 PM my time. I will give you all 2 and a half hours hours to vote on the system, then edit this thread to make the winner by popular demand. This means check this thread and vote if you haven't.

Total I have (On all 3 forums that voted) 5 votes for X-men, 4 votes for Transformors, and 1 vote for Gundam. This means that I am going to do both a Transformers and an X-men system first. That is, unless you change the number of votes.

Times a wasting and Check back for the edit in 2.5 hours.

EDIT: New system, X-men. I will post the first part later.

I counted in your vote. 2 votes for TF on other forums. 2 here. and 2 votes here for X-men. 3 votes elsewhere. I don't count out anyone. But don't worry, it will be made.

@Aegis, Shadowrun isn't D20, what are you talking about man? :D It's a great system though. the first I ever played. *tear* :o

I would like to see something of the X-Men universe though with biological explanations for super powers. What was that game the had Nexus and whatnot for stats? I can't remember, but something like that.

There is a Shadowrun D20 system available, however. I picked up the books about a month ago. It was created an independant project, with the allowance of the creators. It is quite well done, actually, albeit rare.

@Aegis, Wow, I'll have to get that one! I love Shadowrun.

Some independant d20 systems can do really well so best of luck withthis one
