Some light weapons can't be used in the off hand. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, so just keep trying out light weapons until you find one that works. In my game I've used the silver wakizashi (from Ulm) and the bronze kris (from the Fargrove weapon shop).

Edit: Ohh, I just noticed you said "light weapons" rather than "dual light weapons." There's a skill you'll need in order to dual wield anything.

Even if you got dual light weapons you seem to be unable to equip 2 daggers. You simply change the one you are currently using with the one you are clicking at.

Medium Dual weapons too.

The same problem exists with the medium dual weapons too. So far I haven't found a single thing that dual medium weapons has allowed me to do that light dual didn't. Some heavy weapons work in your on (primary) hand for both, and some light weapons work for your off (secondary) hand for both. But, I've never gotten a medium weapon in my off hand, and most weapons simply won't dual wield, no matter what your skill is.

Another problem is your secondary hand doesn't get any magical properties from the weapon it uses, only the primary hand does. It would realy be nice to use my fire broad sowrd in my on hand and my ice light sword in my off, or even ice on and posion off, or heck, even just a strong weapon for my primary, and a magical for my secondary. But, alas, I suspect this shall never be.

Maybe the patches are slow 'cos they're trying to do a sequal that will be more complete?! (I can hope)

you don't really want to use a fire/ice combo, trust me. Try using freezing touch on a fire weapon (the Sword of Flame that you can rent as an elf) and you'll see. The fire weapon will immediately undo the freezing effect of an ice weapon, rendering the combo useless.

Yeah, I'm sure you're right about a fire/ice combo. Just did that in Norrath/Baldur's Gate 'cos it looked kewl. Still, ANY combo would be nice w/o having to use magic.

There is no shogun class, but if you're trying to become a budoka, then I think the only way for you to get dual wielding is to join the fighter guild and eventually become a marauder.

Dual wielding is a lot of fun. That's what I used in my last trip through the game.
